Abstract:

Random sampling is a common technique in statistics. It is a common application to obtain the estimation of the overall distribution by sampling subgroups. Based on this idea, economists have tried to use sampling techniques to get the relation between the market size and the performance losses associated with estimating the distribution for Myerson Optimal Mechanism. When random sampling technique is successfully applied to auction, we can design revenue maximization mechanism with certain performance guarantee in many scenarios where the valuation distribution is unknown. In addition to the classical random sampling auctions, we also consider the problem of auction design with network structure, that is, auction information can be transmitted by people. Our goal is to design a Revenue maximization mechanism for sellers.
