<p><strong>Zihui Liang</strong> earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Technology from UESTC.<br>
His research focuses on Theoretical Computer Science.<br>
He has made significant contributions to the field of finite graph games, combinatorial game theory, and $\omega$-regular games.<br>
Zihui Liang’s work has been published in renowned conferences and journals, including Inf. Comput., Theoret. Comput. Sci., ESA, MFCS, and COCOON.</p>

<p><strong>Junqiang Peng</strong> earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Technology from UESTC.<br>
His research mainly focuses on Fine-Grained Complexity of NP-hard Problems, Moderately Exponential-Time Algorithms, and Parameterized Complexity, with particular interest in SAT problems and graph problems.<br>
Junqiang’s work has been published in renowned conferences and journals, including Inf. Comput., Theoret. Comput. Sci., IEEE Trans. Netw., SAT, WWW, INFOCOM, AAAI, IJCAI.</p>

    <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>近日，我校计算机科学与工程学院（网络空间安全学院）算法与逻辑团队在经济与计算交叉研究领域取得重要突破，论文《Contracting with a Mechanism Designer》被经济与计算领域顶级国际会议2026 ACM Conference on Economics and Computation（简称EC 2026）正式录用。这是团队在计算经济学方向上的标志性成果，彰显了学校在国际前沿交叉学科中的研究实力。<br>
EC会议专注于经济学与计算机科学的交叉研究，是该领域的顶级国际会议之一。本届会议共收到1115篇全文投稿，最终仅录用290篇，录用率约为26.0%。<br>
该论文由电子科技大学计算机科学与工程学院（网络空间安全学院）算法与逻辑团队肖鸣宇教授及其博士生刘耀壕与香港科技大学冯逸丁教授等国内外合作者共同完成。<br>
该论文聚焦现代众包市场中的三方经济交互，提出了一种全新的“委托人-中介-代理人”博弈模型（如图1所示），系统刻画了雇主（委托人）、平台（中介）与工人（代理人）之间的合约与机制设计问题，为理解众包平台中的合约设计与中介定价策略提供了系统的理论框架。</p>

<p>作者完整求解了该模型的子博弈完美均衡，发现委托人的最优合约可等价转化为虚拟价值定价问题，并证明了线性合约的最优性。图2展示了已知与未知市场大小两种情形下，中介参与带来的效用损失上界：当市场大小已知时，损失仅取决于工人成本的分布特征，在理想情况下可被控制在常数倍以内；当委托人只知道市场大小的范围时，损失还会额外受到该范围宽度的放大影响，不确定性越大，效率损失越严重。</p>

<p>电子科技大学算法与逻辑团队由欧洲科学院院士、新西兰院士Bakh Khoussainov教授和算法专家肖鸣宇教授共同组建，现有许超教授、Toru Takisaka教授、周毅副教授、郝东副教授等多位骨干成员。团队长期深耕算法设计与分析（包括近似算法、参数算法、精确算法、在线算法等），逻辑、图论与图算法，组合优化，算法工程，机制设计与算法博弈论，形式化方法与认证等理论方向，近年来在LICS、CAV、WINE、SODA等理论计算机科学领域顶级会议上连续发表高水平成果，研究实力和学术影响力稳步提升。此次EC 2026论文的录用，进一步彰显了团队在计算经济学前沿领域的国际竞争力。<br>
算法与逻辑团队将以此次突破为契机，继续聚焦算法博弈论与机制设计的基础理论问题，深化国际合作，产出更多原创性成果，为推动我国在计算经济学领域的发展贡献成电智慧。</p>

    <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>近日，我校计算机科学与工程学院（网络空间安全学院）算法与逻辑团队在理论计算机科学领域CCF A类顶级期刊《Information and Computation》上连续发表三篇高水平研究论文，充分展现了团队在该领域的突出科研实力与国际学术影响力。</p>
<p>《Information and Computation》自1957年创刊以来，始终秉持严格的学术标准与高要求的录用政策，是CCF推荐A类期刊中理论计算机科学方向的权威刊物。该刊每年发文量通常不超过100篇（除两年特例外），发表难度极高。据文献[黄铁军，我国计算机科学国际期刊论文状况，中国计算机学会通讯，11(8)2015]统计，该期刊是国内学者发表数量最少的CCF A类期刊之一。此次算法与逻辑团队连续三篇论文被该刊录用，标志着我校在理论计算机科学前沿研究领域取得重要突破。</p>
<p>第一篇论文题为“Exponential time algorithms for deciding regular games”（判定正则博弈的指数时间算法），第一作者为梁子辉博士，指导老师Bakh教授与肖鸣宇教授分别为第二、第三作者。论文链接：<a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0890540126000416">https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0890540126000416</a></p>
<p>该论文聚焦反应系统分析与综合中的关键问题，系统研究了彩色Muller博弈、Rabin博弈等多类重要正则博弈模型。作者综合运用递归、动态规划等方法，创新性地引入子博弈编码分析技术，构建了统一的判定算法框架，将多类正则博弈的求解复杂度由超指数时间成功降至指数时间，显著提升了相关问题的理论求解效率，为反应系统的自动化验证与综合提供了新的理论工具。本文首次将彩色Muller博弈问题的求解复杂度从超指数时间降低至指数时间。相关结果的对比在图1中给出。</p>

<p>该工作针对生物信息学中的重要图问题——Co-Path/Cycle Packing与Co-Path Packing，提出了突破性的参数化算法。研究结合路径分解、动态规划、Cut &amp; Count技术及分支搜索方法，成功将Co-Path/Cycle Packing的确定性算法时间复杂度突破$3^k$的瓶颈，为相关图结构问题的算法设计与分析提供了重要技术参考。本文算法与已有结果的对比由图2给出。</p>

<p>该论文深入研究了组合优化领域的经典核心难题——容量限制车辆路径问题（CVRP）。针对单位需求、可分需求与不可分需求三种重要变体，作者提出了一系列新型近似算法，大幅改进了该问题原有的近似比理论界限。本文算法与已知最优算法的对比由图3给出。由图3可见，该工作在车辆容量固定且较小的情形下取得了显著突破。以单位需求和可分需求CVRP为例，相较于此前文献中的最佳结果，团队提出的新算法在各项容量参数下均实现了近似比的全面降低（图中加粗部分为本研究所取得的最优结果）。尤其在容量$k=3,4,5$等小容量场景下，近似比的优化尤为明显。在近似算法领域，近似比数值的降低意味着算法在“最坏情况”下给出的调度方案成本更加逼近理论上的绝对最优解。该研究不仅在理论计算机科学的经典路径分配问题上取得了实质性突破，也为现实世界中的物流配送调度、无人机载货路线规划以及具有严格载重限制的运输场景，提供了具有更优最坏情况保障的理论基础与算法支撑。</p>

<p>本短期课程旨在向研究生介绍在线学习的基本概念、算法与分析工具，并展示这些方法如何被应用于解决经济学中的动态决策问题。本课程向学生讲解了：</p>

<p>黄志毅老师授课中</p>
<p>本课程从数据驱动的视角重新审视经典博弈论中的机制设计理论，并介绍相关算法与分析工具。经典博弈论假设参与者的私有信息服从特定分布，且机制设计者完全了解这个分布。然而在现实中，我们只能通过历史数据获得该分布的部分信息。因此，我们需要探讨如何有效利用这些历史数据，以及确定所需的数据量——后者也被称为该问题的样本复杂度（Sample Complexity）。</p>
<p>在本课程中，黄志毅老师系统性地介绍该领域近十年来在算法设计与分析技术上的重要进展，并以拍卖机制设计为切入点，循序渐进地讲解经典学习理论、信息论和博弈论中的核心工具，最终完整解决拍卖机制的采样复杂度问题。此外，在课上还探讨了这些理论方法在合约设计、信息设计和算法设计等领域的应用。</p>

<p>黄志毅目前是香港大学计算机科学系的副教授，在加入香港大学之前，他于2013年至2014年在斯坦福大学从事博士后研究，与Tim Roughgarden合作；于2013年在宾夕法尼亚大学获得博士学位，导师是Sampath Kannan和Aaron Roth；于2008年毕业于清华大学由姚期智创办的第一届“姚班”获得学士学位。他的研究成果主要在于探索不确定性下的序列决策算法（在线算法）、基于不同信息形式的学习理论（学习理论）、激励自利主体共享私有信息的机制设计（机制设计），以及在保密某些信息的同时披露另类信息的技术（差分隐私）。 其研究成果屡获殊荣，包括ESA 2024、FOCS 2020和SPAA 2015等国际顶会最佳论文奖。他还获得国家自然科学基金优秀青年科学基金项目（港澳）、香港研资局早期学术生涯奖、Morris and Dorothy Rubinoff优秀博士论文奖，以及西蒙斯理论计算机科学研究生奖学金等多项荣誉。</p>

    <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>From February 28 to March 2, 2025, the 19th International Conference and Workshop on Algorithms and Computation (WALCOM 2025) was successfully convened in Chengdu, China, under the auspices of the Algorithms and Logic Lab. The conference was chaired by Bakh Khoussainov as the General Chair and Mingyu Xiao as the Program Committee (PC) Chair. The conference garnered 71 submissions from 23 countries and regions globally. Following a rigorous peer-review process, 26 papers were accepted for presentation, reflecting an acceptance rate of 37%. This not only underscored the international stature of WALCOM but also affirmed its commitment to maintaining stringent academic standards.</p>

<p>The conference was graced by three eminent invited speakers: Professor Venkatesan Guruswami from the University of California, Berkeley, Professor Ken-ichi Kawarabayashi from the National Institute of Informatics in Japan, and Professor Daniel Lokshtanov from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Their keynote addresses on efficient algorithms for constraint satisfaction, three-edge-coloring of cubic graphs on surfaces of low genus, and structure and quasi-polynomial time algorithms provided profound insights and highlighted cutting-edge developments in the field.</p>
<p>Throughout the conference, scholars from across the globe engaged in robust discussions on a diverse array of topics, including graph theory, algorithms and approximation, game theory and social choice, and exact and parameterized algorithms. The program was enriched with social activities such as the opening ceremony, coffee breaks, and a banquet, fostering an environment conducive to networking and collaborative endeavors.</p>
<p>Chengdu, the host city, left an indelible impression on attendees with its rich cultural heritage and distinctive urban allure. The organizing committee recommended several notable attractions, including the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Jinli Ancient Street, Wenshu Monastery, and People’s Park, which collectively showcased the city’s natural splendor, historical depth, and leisurely lifestyle.</p>
<p>The Algorithms and Logic Lab extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their invaluable contributions and to the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the CCF Theoretical Computer Science for their financial support. Looking ahead, the lab is poised to host two prestigious international conferences: COCOON 2025 and the Asian Logic Colloquium (ALC) 2027. These initiatives underscore our unwavering commitment to fostering global academic exchanges and advancing the frontiers of theoretical computer science research.</p>

<p>Large language models (LLMs) are widely used in data generation and reasoning. This talk covers the basic concepts, advantages, development history, and pre-training and fine-tuning process of LLMs, and focuses on some of the speaker’s work: the combined application of LLMs in high-quality self-supervised data generation, LLM agents combined with reinforcement learning to generate epic long text story novels, and challenges and solutions in reasoning tasks, including multi-step logical reasoning using LLM-generated code. In addition, we propose a potential idea: to improve the performance of LLMs in multi-step deductive logical reasoning tasks by building a world model and combining it with a model checking method (LLM+X).</p>
<h2 id="speaker-bio">Speaker Bio:</h2>
<p>Zhongsheng Wang is the PhD Candidate at UoA, focusing on Trustworthy AI Agents based on MRAG. He received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Technology from the Southwest University in 2023 and master degree in Data Science at the University of Auckland in 2024. His research interests include natural language processing, and he’s currently focusing on research on LLM-Based Agents and the practical application of LLMs. He’s also a member of the LIU AI LAB, which is dedicated to cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence.</p>

<p>Ton Kloks 教授授课中</p>
<p>逻辑与算法团队协议研究员Ton Kloks从2024年6月17日起为我校师生开设为期8天的《图算法导论》短期课程。</p>
<p>在《图算法导论》这门课程中，Ton Kloks从图论概念、算法、问题模型、前沿趋势四个部分带大家进入图算法的世界。由一些图论概念展开，介绍了早期图算法中的一些经典结果，之后对图代数和一元二阶逻辑进行了简要介绍，最后以“树宽”概念为跳板，阐述了相关方向的研究趋势。Ton Kloks教授善于深入浅出，让本科生也有机会了解当前图论和图算法中最重要和最前沿的理论。</p>
<p>本次课程使用的教材是Ton Kloks教授和肖鸣宇教授合著的《A guide to graph Algorithms》（中文：《图算法导论》），该教材在两位作者持续多年的交流和实践中不断地丰富和完善之后，经由国际著名出版社Springer于2022年出版。</p>
<p>Ton Kloks教授曾先后在埃因霍温科技大学、利兹大学、香港中文大学等十余所高校和研究机构担任教师和研究员，具有丰富的研究和教学经验。近年来，应电子科技大学计算机科学与工程学院副院长肖鸣宇教授的邀请，Ton Kloks教授多次前来共同讲授图算法方面的短期课程，曾连续开设了4年，都取得较好的教学效果。</p>

    <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>近日，电子科技大学计算机科学与工程学院（网络空间安全学院）算法与逻辑团队先后在LICS、CAV等计算机理论方向的CCF A类会议上发表一系列高水平研究成果，这是我校首次在LICS和CAV这两个CCF A类会议上发表论文。</p>
<p>　　算法与逻辑团队的Bakh Khoussainov教授为通信作者的论文 <em>Defining algorithmically presented structures in first order logic</em> 被计算机理论方向的国际顶级会议LICS 2024接收。LICS全名为ACM/IEEE Symposium on Logic in Computer Science，是理论计算机科学中逻辑方向最顶级的会议，2024年全球283篇投稿中仅接收了72篇（接收率为25%），其中来自中国作者的论文仅此一篇。</p>
<p>　　此文主要研究是否可以使用一阶逻辑来正式描述算法表示的结构。这一问题的研究可追溯到50～60年前的古老经典问题，该领域的许多著名专家均尝试过解决这个问题，但是始终没有得到很好的解决方案。Bakh Khoussainov教授潜心在该问题上研究了20余年，最终提出了解决这一问题的积极方法。</p>
<p>　　算法与逻辑团队的Toru Takisaka教授为第一作者、硕士生王长江为第三作者的论文 <em>Lexicographic Ranking Supermartingales with Lazy Lower Bounds</em> 被计算机理论方向的顶级国际会议CAV 2024接收。CAV全名为International Conference on Computer Aided Verification，是形式化认证中最顶级的国际会议之一，该会议关注从理论到具体应用的各方面研究成果，特别是实用的验证工具以及实现它们所需的算法和技术。</p>
<p>　　这篇论文主要研究的是Ranking Supermartingale（简称RSM）技术，它是一种用于自动验证概率程序几乎必定终止的重要技术。在该论文中，作者提出了第一种系统分析弱非负性条件下RSM稳健性的技术，基于这一技术，该文设计了一个新的RSM变体，其非负性条件明显弱于现有技术中最先进的RSM变体。实验表明，该项新型RSM合成算法相对现有最先进算法，可行性提高了10.4%。</p>
<p>　　除以上两篇论文之外，算法与逻辑团队还有四篇论文同时被CCF A类会议IJCAI 2024中的规划、优化、约束满足等传统人工智能基础算法领域接收。IJCAI全名为International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence，是人工智能领域历史最长、知名度最高的会议之一，其中传统人工智能基础和理论方向是该会议中难度最大、竞争最激烈的方向之一。四篇被接收的论文具体信息如下：</p>
<p>　　论文 <em>A Fast Algorithm for MaxSAT Above Half Number of Clauses</em> ，第一作者为博士生彭俊强，第二作者为导师肖鸣宇教授。该文研究了最大可满足性问题（Maximum Satisfiability Problem）以“输入公式的最大可满足子句数与一半子句数之差”这一度量为参数的算法，给出当前最佳的运行时间上界。</p>
<p>　　论文 <em>A Better Approximation for Bipartite Traveling Tournament in Inter-League Sports Scheduling</em> ，第一作者为博士生赵景阳，第二作者为导师肖鸣宇教授。该文研究了二分旅行锦标赛问题（Bipartite Traveling Tournament Problem）的调度算法，给出的算法达到了当前最好的理论近似率。</p>
<p>　　论文 <em>Improved Approximation Algorithms for Capacitated Location Routing</em> ，第一作者为博士生赵景阳，第二作者为导师肖鸣宇教授，第三作者为硕士生汪顺旺。该文研究带容量限制的选址路径规划问题（Capacitated Location Routing），给出的算法改进了原有最佳近似算法。</p>
<p>　　论文 <em>Exactly Solving Minimum Dominating Set and its Generalization</em> ，第一作者为硕士生熊子良，第二作者为导师肖鸣宇教授。该文针对最小支配集问题及其扩展问题设计了快速的算法，给出了新的约简规则、新的理论下界等，实验效果显示新的算法比原有最佳算法能快上$10^5$倍。</p>
<p>　　电子科技大学算法与逻辑团队由欧洲科学院院士、新西兰院士Bakh Khoussainov教授和算法专家肖鸣宇教授共同组建，许超教授、Toru Takisaka教授、周毅副教授、郝东副教授等多位老师参与。该团队致力于基础理论研究，以探索算法难题和解决重要的科学问题为宗旨，激发和培养学生及青年老师对算法和基础理论的兴趣，为算法及相关研究方向感兴趣的师生提供一个交流平台。团队目前重点关注的研究方向包括：算法设计与分析（包括近似算法、参数算法、精确算法、在线算法等），逻辑、图论与图算法，组合优化，算法工程，机制设计与算法博弈论，形式化方法与认证等。团队培养的学生人均发表一篇CCF A类论文，多名学生在程序设计竞赛和数学竞赛中取得优异成绩，如：在ACM程序设计竞赛中10余人进入世界总决赛；在IEEE极限编程竞赛中连续两次获得世界第二名，六次进入世界前十名；两次获得华为软件精英挑战赛全球总决赛冠军；2023年获得全国大学生数学竞赛（非数学类）全国第一名等。</p>

    <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 19th Asian Logic Conference will be held in autumn, 2027, in Chengdu, China. Organized by the Algorithms and Logic Lab of  University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). Professor Bakh Khoussainov will serve as the Chair of the conference.</p>
<p>The Asian Logic Conference (ALC) is a major international event in mathematical logic and its applications. It features the latest scientific developments in the fields of mathematical logic, logic in computer science, combinatorial aspects of logic, logical aspects of algorithms, and philosophical logic. The ALC series also aims to promote mathematical logic in the Asia-Pacific region and to bring logicians together both from within Asia and elsewhere for exchanging and disseminating information and ideas.</p>
<p>From 1981 to 2008, the Asian Logic Conference had been held triennially and rotated among countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Those meetings took place in Singapore (1981), Bangkok (1984), Beijing (1987), Tokyo (1990), Singapore (1993), Beijing (1996), Hsi-Tou (1999), Chongqing (2002), Novosibirsk (2005), and Kobe (2008).  From 2009, the new two-year cycle began with the meetings in Singapore (2009), Wellington (2011), Guangzhou (2013), Mumbai (2015), Daejeon (2017), Astana(2019), 2021(postponed), and Tianjin(2023). Prior to the meeting in Chengdu in 2027, the ALC meeting will be held in Kyoto (Japan) in 2025.</p>

<p>　　肖鸣宇教授长期致力于算法、计算理论、图论与图算法、机制设计与算法博弈论等方面的基础理论研究；在国内外是精确算法、参数算法、核心化算法等领域的著名专家，为SAT、最大独立集等多个基本NP难问题设计了当前最佳的精确算法和参数算法；并将算法理论应用于人工智能、工业优化、计算经济、运筹学等领域，且取得了显著成效。近年来在Information and Computation、JCSS、Algorithmica、ACM/IEEE Trans.、AAAI、IJCAI、ICALP、INFOCOM、WWW等算法理论、人工智能基础算法领域顶级期刊和会议上发表论文超过130篇，撰写英文专著1部。</p>

    <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In recent days, there has been good news from the 29th International Computing and Combinatorics Conference (COCOON 2023), where a paper titled “Improved Approximation Algorithms for Multidepot Capacitated Vehicle Routing” co-authored by Dr. Zhao Jingyang and Professor Xiao Mingyu from our Algorithms and Logic group has won the “Best Paper Award”. COCOON is an important international conference in the field of computer science theory and is ranked as Class B by the China Computer Federation (CCF). This year’s COCOON was held in Hawaii, USA from December 15th to 17th, 2023, receiving 146 submissions from over 20 countries worldwide. Among the accepted 60 papers, this paper stood out and won the Best Paper Award. In the congratulatory letter issued by the conference, the authors were praised with the following statement: “Your work has been commended for its originality, technical depth, and significant impact on the related field. The selection committee was particularly impressed with the innovative approach and the clarity of presentation in your paper.”</p>

<p>The vehicle routing problem is a very important class of problems in the field of combinatorial optimization and operations research. This problem requires us to design routes for transportation vehicles to meet customer demands while minimizing the total transportation cost. Despite the high prominence and widespread applications of this problem, progress in theoretical algorithmic research has been slow, especially in terms of approximation algorithms, with no substantial improvements in approximation ratios for many years. This paper focuses on the vehicle routing problem in a multi-depot setting and provides new approximation ratios for this important problem. The results improve upon the results by Li and Simchi-Levi in 1990 (INFORMS J. Comput. 1990) and Harks et al. in 2013 (Transp. Sci. 2013).</p>

<p>Jingyang Zhao is current a year-three Ph.D student in the Algorithms and Logic group under the supervision of Mingyu Xiao. He focuses on algorithms for vehicle routing problems. Over the course of three years, he has made theoretical breakthroughs in several vehicle routing problems, publishing over 10 papers in prestigious international journals and conferences such as IEEE Trans, AAAI, IJCAI, MFCS, and COCOON.</p>

    <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>近日，我校计算机科学与工程学院（网络空间安全学院）计算机科学与技术专业2020级本科生田康毅以第一作者身份在CCF理论计算机科学领域B类会议COCOON上发表题为《Parameterized Algorithms for Cluster Vertex Deletion on Degree-4 Graphs and General Graphs》的论文。计算机（网安）学院算法与逻辑团队的肖鸣宇教授为第二作者和通讯作者，加拿大里贾纳大学的Boting Yang教授为第三作者。</p>
<p>该论文研究了著名的聚类点删除问题（CVD问题）的算法与计算复杂性，得到该问题精确求解中，以点删除集大小k为参数的最佳运行时间上界，改进了Tsur于2021年给出的结果。本文给出的时间运行界和历史上该问题的运行时间如表1中所示。</p>

<p>CVD问题是图算法中一个著名的NP难问题，该问题问是否能通过删除图中不超过k个顶点使得剩下图中每一个连通块都是一个完全图。由于CVD问题良好地刻画了聚类的性质，该问题在机器学习和计算生物学中有着广泛的应用。本论文首先针对低度图上的CVD问题进行了分析，在度数不超过4的图上先设计了一个快速的算法；然后在4度图的结果基础上，使用自动生成搜索树（Automated Generation of Searching Trees）的技术对一般图进行了深入分析，最终改进该问题当前最好的算法。</p>
<p>田康毅同学从大一开始进入算法与逻辑团队学习，在肖鸣宇教授的指导下从事参数算法与核心化算法相关方向的研究工作，已经研究获得多项科研成果，形成学术论文两篇。</p>

    <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>近日，我校计算机科学与工程学院（网络空间安全学院）算法与逻辑团队2021级博士生彭俊强以第一作者身份在CCF理论计算机科学领域A类期刊Information and Computation (I&amp;C)上发表题为《Further improvements for SAT in terms of formula length》的论文。论文第二作者和通讯作者为肖鸣宇教授。 </p>
<p>该论文研究了著名的布尔可满足性问题（SAT问题）的算法与计算复杂性，得到该问题精确求解中，以问题输入CNF公式的总长度L为度量的当前最佳运行时间上界，改进了十余年前Chen和Liu于2009年给出的结果。本文给出的时间运行界和历史上该问题的运行时间界如表1中所示。</p>

<p>SAT问题是第一个被证明的NP完全问题，在计算复杂性理论里扮演着重要角色，也在人工智能、运筹学和电子设计工程等众多领域中有着重要且基础的应用。该经典问题的运行时间上界在过去几十年里一直被深入研究。作者们通过设计新的分支算法，并运用测量治之（Measure-and-Conquer）的分析技术深入分析，最终取得了这项突破。</p>
<p>彭俊强同学为计算机（网安）学院2021级直博研究生。他从本科阶段开始进入算法与逻辑团队学习，在肖鸣宇教授的指导下从事SAT及其相关问题的研究工作。在博士学习的前两年已经发表两篇CCF A类和一篇CCF B类论文。</p>
<p>算法与逻辑团队由欧洲科学院院士、新西兰院士Bakh Khoussainov教授和肖鸣宇教授共同组建，周毅副教授、郝东副教授和许超助理教授、日籍Toru Takisaka副研究员等多位老师参与。该团队致力于基础理论研究，以探索算法难题和解决重要的科学问题为宗旨，激发和培养学生及青年老师对算法和基础理论的兴趣，为算法及相关研究方向感兴趣的师生提供一个交流平台。团队目前重点关注的研究方向包括：算法设计与分析（包括近似算法、参数算法、精确算法、在线算法等）、逻辑、图论与图算法、组合优化、算法工程、机制设计与算法博弈论、形式化方法与认证等。</p>
<p>团队以科研育人为首要任务，培养出了众多优秀的学生。近两年本科生第一作者在WWW、IJCAI、SODA、COCOON、Discrete Mathematics等CCF A类会议和重要刊物上发表5篇论文。除论文外，团队学生还在多项科技竞赛中斩获重要奖项，仅2023年上半年就获得2023年华为软件精英挑战赛全球总决赛冠军，2023年全国大学生数学竞赛（非数学类）全国第一名，IEEE极限编程竞赛世界第四名（第五次进入世界前十名）等。</p>

<p>主讲人：</p>
<p>傅育熙，1992年获英国曼彻斯特大学计算机博士学位，1994年起在上海交通大学任职，历任计算机系主任，软件学院院长。是国家杰出青年基金获得者、上海市优秀学科带头人。研究领域为理论计算机科学，内容涉及程序理论、并发理论、等价性验证、可达性理论、交互理论等。学术兼职有：上海高校软件理论研究中心主任、国务院学位委员会第六届学科评议组成员 (2010-2014)、上海市计算机学会理事长 (2015-2018）、教育部计算机类专业教学指导委员会副主任 （2013-2017，2018-2022）。是Mathematical Structuresin Computer Science期刊的编委。傅育熙讲授的 《计算复杂性理论》课程获得“2019年度高校计算机专业优秀教师奖励计划”。</p>
<p>课程包含两部分：一、随机计算与去随机，主要内容包括：随机算法、概率图灵机与BPP、通用哈希函数族、随机游走、扩张图及其显式构造、Reigold定理。二、交互证明系统，主要内容包括：私币交互证明系统、公币交互证明系统、两类交互证明系统的等价性、IP=PSPACE、多证明者交互证明系统。<br>

<p>华为嵌入式软件大赛是面向在校大学生的软硬件作品比赛，分为算法组和实物组两个赛道，由算法与逻辑团队派出的”icecreamx3”队参加了算法组的比赛。算法组的赛题通常源自ICT领域的实际问题，本届赛题抽象为光网络的加纤扩容难题，参赛者需要提出并实现最优化算法使其能够在2min之内安排完所有光业务并使光网络的加纤总成本最小。</p>
<p>经过五大赛区区域初赛、复赛层层选拔，算法组&amp;实物组共36支队伍晋级总决赛，共聚松山湖总部进行现场对决。最终，经过现场四个小时的激烈角逐，团队成员沉着冷静、有条不紊，在时间十分紧迫的情况下出色地完成了比赛，在18支算法组的队伍中脱颖而出，获得了全国季军的优异成绩。</p>

<p>算法与逻辑团队成员<br>
Khoussainov Bakhadyr教授长期从事理论计算机科学中计算与逻辑领域的研究工作，研究方向包括逻辑与计算，已在理论计算机科学领域发表了160余篇具有国际影响力的高水平国际期刊/会议论文，其卓越的学术成就得到国际学术界的广泛认可，于2021年获得Nerode Prize，2019年获得德国洪堡研究奖，2017年荣获STOC会议最佳论文奖（STOC在整个计算机科学领域享有崇高声望）。2002年获得新西兰数学学会研究奖，2019年获得伦敦数学学会与新西兰数学学会联合授予的唯一Aitken Lecturer称号。</p>

<p>Khoussainov Bakhadyr教授于2021年全时全职加入电子科技大学计算机科学与工程学院（网络空间安全学院），是学院首位全时全职引进的海外院士。现已组建了一支6人规模“小而精”的研究团队，其中团队成员50%为外籍学者。主持了包括国家自然科学基金、德国洪堡研究基金、新西兰皇家学会Marsden基金等在内的多个国内外项目。</p>

<p>　　k-Plex是一种松弛团模型，相比于传统团模型提高了对数据噪声的容忍度，在社区发现算法中常被用于社区的图论建模。最大k-Plex问题旨在搜索图中规模最大的k-Plex，该问题属于NP难问题。该论文基于参数算法理论，给出了一个快速的最大k-Plex的搜索算法，可以在大规模稀疏图中高效地搜索出最大k-Plex。</p>
<p>　　论文揭示了大规模稀疏图中存在的小参数——退化差，并设计了相应的固定参数可解（Fixed-Parameter Tractable，FPT）算法。即在退化差参数有界的情况下，最大k-Plex问题能够在多项式时间内求解。此外，论文通过广泛地实验证明，退化差参数通常在输入图规模的对数数值范围内，并且所提出的固定参数可解算法达到了目前的最优性能。</p>
<p>　　该论文中所提出的固定参数可解算法，其算法框架和运行实例分别如算法1和表1所示。</p>

<p>IJCAI是人工智能领域顶级会议，位列中国计算机学会推荐国际会议CCF-A类。本年度会议投稿超过4500篇，录用率仅为15%，会议将于8月在中国澳门召开。除以上介绍的这篇论文以外，算法与逻辑团队的研究生彭俊强以第一作者身份撰写的另一篇论文《Fast Algorithms for SAT with Bounded Occurrences of Variables》也被IJCAI 2023接收。</p>
<p>　　王正仁，2022年度“成电杰出学生（本科生）”，现计算机学院大四本科生。他从大一开始以学院拔尖人才计划的形式进入算法与逻辑团队学习，主要专注于算法工程与理论方向上的前沿问题，以第一作者身份在CCF-A类会议WWW 2022和IJCAI 2023上发表两篇论文。</p>
<p>　　电子科技大学算法与逻辑团队由新西兰院士Bakh Khoussainov教授和肖鸣宇教授共同组建，周毅副教授、郝东副教授和许超助理教授等多位老师参与。该团队致力于基础理论研究，以探索算法难题和解决重要的科学问题为宗旨，激发和培养学生及青年老师对算法和基础理论的兴趣，为算法及相关研究方向感兴趣的师生提供一个交流平台。团队目前重点关注的研究方向包括：算法设计与分析（包括近似算法、参数算法、精确算法、在线算法等）、逻辑、图论与图算法、组合优化、算法工程、机制设计与算法博弈论、形式化方法与认证等。</p>
<p>　　每年有10余名对算法和数学感兴趣的本科生进入团队学习，科研能力明显提升，高水平论文等学术成果层出不穷。长期以来，学生在多项科技竞赛中斩获奖项，多名学生在程序设计竞赛和数学建模竞赛中取得非常优异的成绩。在ACM程序设计竞赛中，团队多名学生打进了世界总决赛；在IEEE极限编程竞赛中团队学生连续两年获得世界第二名，五次进入世界前十名；团队学生在2021年和2023年分别获得华为软件精英挑战赛全球总决赛冠军。</p>

<p>本届赛题抽象自华为云智能机器人的真实业务，由参赛者通过代码操控机器人完成特定任务以实现收益最大化。不同于一般算法题中的机器人操控通常采用上下左右回合制移动的方式，本届赛题从操控方式到真实运动都完全参考并模拟了真实业务中的机器人，旨在让参赛者感受真实业务场景痛点和挑战，把理论知识结合企业实际进行思考，享受通过算法解决问题、创造实际价值的过程。参赛学生的精彩表现受到评委专家高度评价，充分展现了成电研究生的创新素养和科研能力。</p>

<p>华为软件精英挑战赛官方微信公众号专门邀请两次在大赛中获得冠军的来自本团队的2022级研究生刘露同学（导师：肖鸣宇教授）从技术层面分享参赛经验。再次夺冠后，刘露同学说：“感谢学校学院及算法与逻辑实验室对我们参与竞赛的支持，尤其要感谢肖鸣宇教授在比赛中始终关心进展，给予了大量支持和鼓励。本次比赛，我积累了更多解决复杂实际问题的经验，结识了更多的技术大牛，收获颇丰。希望将来能把参赛经验应用到科研及其他竞赛中去，不断提升自己，成为更优秀的人才，不辜负学校学院和团队的培养。”</p>
<p>两支参赛队伍的六名学生有五名来自本团队，实验室负责人肖鸣宇教授说：“实验室历年来非常注重对拔尖学生的培养，树立学生学术信仰，励志学生解决重要的和难求解的科学问题，激发并培养学生对基础理论探索和研究的兴趣。目前来看，学生培养成效良好，这次也是实验室的学生第二次获得华为软件精英挑战赛全球总冠军，实验室的学生在其他一些竞赛中也获得了非常突出成绩，比如说在IEEE极限编程竞赛中已经5次获得全球前10名，其中两次全球第2名。学生论文方面也硕果累累，本科生能在WWW、AAAI、IJCAI、SODA等计算机顶级会议上以第一作者发表论文。在学院的人才培养总体规划和指导下，我们将继续探索和改进对拔尖学生的培养。”</p>

    <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Recently, the results of the regional semi-final of the CodeCraft2023 Competition (2023华为软件精英挑战赛) were announced.</p>
<p>Two teams from our lab qualified for the final, with one team ranking 1st and the other ranking 2nd. The final is scheduled to take place on April 22nd.</p>
<p>The first team consists of three students from our lab: Junqiang Peng (supervised by Prof. Mingyu Xiao), Lu Liu (supervised by Prof. Mingyu Xiao), and Ziliang Xiong (supervised by Prof. Mingyu Xiao). Their score was ranked 1st in both the region and the nation.<br>
The second team includes two students from our lab: Jianbo Wang (supervised by Asst. Prof. Chao Xu) and Tianqi Song (supervised by Asst. Prof. Chao Xu). Their score was ranked 2nd in the region.</p>

<p>The CodeCraft Competition is a large-scale programming competition organized by Huawei for global university students, which has been successfully held eight times since 2015. This year’s competition was launched on March 1st and drew the participation of 23,078 students from 645 universities in China. A total of 3,887 teams registered to compete. The theme of this year’s competition is based on the real-life business scenarios of Huawei Cloud’s intelligent robots, and it simulates the operating environment of multiple robots as well as the actual state information of robots. Participants are required to control the robots through coding to complete specific tasks and maximize profits.</p>

    <title>An undergraduate in our lab published research results in the prestigious journal Discrete Mathematics</title>

The research areas covered by Discrete Mathematics include graph and hypergraph theory, enumeration, coding theory, block designs, the combinatorics of partially ordered sets, extremal set theory, matroid theory, algebraic combinatorics, discrete geometry, matrices, discrete probability, and parts of cryptography. Our paper has been accepted and will be published in volume 346, issue 4. The first student author Yuhao Liu is a senior undergraduate student. <p>Title: The (3, 3)-colorability of planar graphs without 4-cycles and 5-cycles</p>

<p>In this paper, we study the colorability of a special kind of planar graph. A graph $G$ is called $(d_1, \ldots, d_r)$-colorable if its vertex set can be partitioned into $r$ sets $V_1, \ldots, V_r$ such that the maximum degree of the induced subgraph $G[V_i]$ of $G$ is at most $d_i$ for $i \in \{1, \ldots, r\}$. The problem we study is a variant of famous Steinberg’s conjecture. Steinberg conjectured that every planar graph without 4-cycles and 5-cycles are $(0,0,0)$-colorable. Unfortunately, the conjecture does not hold. Based on it, there are a large number of research results. It is known that every planar graph without 4-cycles and 5-cycles is $(3,4)$-colorable or $(2,6)$-colorable. In this paper, we reduce the gap by proving that every planar graph without 4-cycles and 5-cycles is $(3,3)$-colorable.</p>

<p>实验室本科生在离散数学著名期刊Discrete Mathematics发表研究成果</p>
<p>近日，电子科技大学英才实验学院2019级数理基础科学专业本科生刘宇豪撰写的论文《The (3, 3)-colorability of planar graphs without 4-cycles and 5-cycles》被离散数学方向国际著名期刊《Discrete Mathematics》录用，并在2023年第4期刊出。该论文是在计算科学与工程学院算法与逻辑团队的肖鸣宇教授指导下完成的。</p>
<p>该论文研究的是平面图着色方面的问题。著名的平面图四色定理指的是任意一个平面图都可以用4种颜色对图中顶点进行染色使得任意相邻两个顶点被染不同颜色。一个后续研究问题是：只用3种或者2种颜色对一个平面图进行着色会有什么性质？很容易证明对一般平面图，没办法只用3种颜色进行着色。通过一系列深入研究后，Steinberg于1976年提出著名的猜想：不含长度为4和5的圈的平面图（用P(4,5)来表示这类平面图）可以用3种颜色来着色使得任意相邻两个顶点被染不同颜色。直到2017年，Steinberg的猜想才被证明是不成立的。我们不能保证每对相邻的顶点都染不同的颜色，但是可以使得染同一种颜色的点构成的图的度数尽量小。之前已知的结果是：P(4,5)类图可以用3种颜色进行着色使得每种相同颜色的点构成的图的度数不超过1；若只用2种颜色对P(4,5)类图进行着色，则可以使得每种相同颜色的点构成的图的度数不超过4。本文延续图着色方向里这条研究路线，进一步证明了，P(4,5)类图可以用2种颜色进行着色使得每种相同颜色的点构成的图的度数不超过3，改进了原有结果4。</p>
<p>文中证明里用到的是权转移技术，我们先反设存在一个不能满足着色要求的图，然后对这个图上的顶点和面赋一种权值，使得图中所有顶点和面的权值总和是负的；然后通过一些规则在图中顶点和面之间进行权值的转移，在转移的过程中所有权值总和保持不变；但是转移全部完成后，我们可以计算出所有权值和为正的，得到这样一个矛盾，从而证明了这种不满足着色要求的图不存在。下图中给出了一些权转移的规则示例。</p>

<p>学生作者刘宇豪于2019年转入电子科技大学英才实验学院数理基础科学专业，大二开始进入计算机科学与工程学院算法与逻辑团队进行科研训练，先后参与多项图论、算法、组合优化方向的基础研究，已经在相关领域高水平期刊和会议上发表论文2篇，另1篇论文发表在算法领域顶级会议SODA 2023上。</p>
<p>电子科技大学算法与逻辑团队是由新西兰院士Bakh Khoussainov教授和算法著名专家肖鸣宇教授共同组建，面向全校师生开放的、致力于基础理论研究的团队。该团队关注算法、图论、逻辑、组合优化、机制设计等方面的基础难题，培养和激发学生及青年老师的理论研究兴趣。每年有10余名对算法和数学感兴趣的本科生进入团队学习，科研能力明显提升，高水平论文等学术成果层出不穷。长期以来，学生在多项科技竞赛中斩获奖项，多名学生在程序设计竞赛和数学建模竞赛中取得非常优异的成绩；在ACM程序设计竞赛中，团队多名学生打进了世界总决赛；在IEEE极限编程竞赛中团队学生连续两年获得世界第二名，五次进入世界前十名。</p>

<p>据悉，CCF-华为胡杨林基金是中国计算机协会联合华为推出的面向泛计算领域的综合科研基金，旨在通过搭建产学合作平台，连接产业实践问题与学术科研问题，支持海内外优秀青年学者开展与产业结合的前沿科研工作。首届 CCF-华为胡杨林基金-理论计算机专项共收到来自 23 所高校 &amp; 科研院所的有效项目申请书 28 份，由 CCF 理论计算机科学专委会和华为理论计算机的数名专家从申请项目的实用性、创新性、可行性申请者及团队的学术水平和科研能力等方面进行综合评审后，确定了支持 A 类项目 2 项、B 类项目 5 项。</p>
<p>周毅副教授 2017 年加入电子科技大学计算机科学与工程学院，是算法与逻辑团队（Algorithms and Logic Group）的成员。他主要从事组合优化、算法工程方面的研究，为一系列重要的松弛团问题设计了高效的、具备理论保证的枚举及搜索算法。在 WWW，AAAI，EJOR，C&amp;OR，IEEE T. CYBERNETICS 等学术会议和期刊上发表了论文 20 余篇。他主持国家自然基金一项，并参与了华为等项企业的多个算法落地项目，担任了 WWW，AAAI，WSDM 和 CIKM 等会议程序委员会成员。</p>

    <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="https://tcsuestc.com/tcsec2022/index.html">The Algorithmic Game Theory and Computation Theory Forum</a> was held on June 13, 2022, at Qingshuihe Campus, University of Electronic Science and Technology. This forum was hosted by A&amp;L Lab. The event was opened by the Vice Present, Professor Haoquan Hu and CCF TCS Committee Director, Professor Xiaoming Sun.</p>
<p>This forum focuses on the intersection between computer science and economics. The invited speakers include Professor Minming Li (City University of Hong Kong), Professor Xiaohui Bei (Nanyang Technological University), Professor Xiao Liu (Tsinghua University), Dr. Jiamou Liu (The University of Auckland), Professor Dengji Zhao (ShanghaiTech University) and Professor Dong Hao (University of Electronic Science and Technology of China). The speakers gave talks on cutting-edge topics such as fair distribution, cake sharing, rationality measurement, private data query, and mechanism design in social networks.</p>
<p>This forum provided a platform for the discussion on related issues and challenges in algorithmic game theory and computation theory. It attracted the attention from academia and about 200 researchers and students in related areas attended this event.</p>

The CoolSunlightBear team sent by our group has achieved the 5th place in the world (2nd in Asia). The three student members of the team are Zihui Liang (captain, supervised by Prof. Bakh Khoussainov), Ziliang Xiong (supervised by Prof. Mingyu Xiao), Yuxi Liu (supervised by Prof. Mingyu Xiao), and the team adviser is Associate Prof. Yi Zhou.</p>

<p>The IEEEXtreme Global Extreme Programming Competition is a famous international programming competition sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The 15th IEEEXtreme programming competition (IEEEXtreme15.0) began on October 23, 2021, attracting 5,561 teams from the world’s top universities in the computer field. In the competition, the IEEE official website will issue a series of programming questions online 24 hours. The organizer will rank the participating teams in real time around the world according to the degree of completion of each programming problem. The competition will greatly test the mental, physical and psychological limits of the players. In this competition, under the guidance of Associate Prof. Yi Zhou, the team members calmly responded and collided with the spark of wisdom in the teamwork competition. With their excellent professional ability and perseverance, they finally won the fifth place in the world and the second place in Asia.</p>

The 31th Web Conference (WWW 2022) will be hosted by Lyon, France from April 25th to 29th. This year, the conference received 1822 submissions and accepted 323 of them as full papers. The acceptance ratio is 17.7%. Our below submission was selected to present on the conference. Congratulations to all authors! <p>Title: Listing Maximal k-Plexes in Large Real-World Graphs</p>
<p>Authors: Zhengren Wang, Yi Zhou, Mingyu Xiao and Bakhadyr Khoussainov</p>
<p>In this paper, we study the problem of listing maximal k-plexes in large real-world graphs, which is highly significant in many domains such as data mining, bio-informatics and ad-hoc wireless network. We propose ListPlex, an algorithm that lists all maximal k-plexes with a guaranteed worst-case running time bound. From algorithmic perspective, we suggest strong prune rules to reduce the search space of our algorithm. From the computational system perspective, we propose new data structures to reduce cache misses and increase parallelism. Experiments show that ListPlex outperforms the state-of-the-art approaches and all optimization techniques bring evident speedup.</p>

The Thirty-Sixth AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-22) will take place in Vancouver. This year, the conference received a record 9,251 submissions, of which 9,020 were reviewed. Based on a thorough and rigorous review process, 1,349 papers have been accepted. This yields an overall acceptance rate of 15%. Our below submission was selected to present on the conference. <p>Title: Multi-Unit Auction in Social Networks with Budgets</p>
<p>Authors: Mingyu Xiao, Yuchao Song, Bakh Khoussainov</p>
<p>In this paper, we study multi-unit auctions in social networks, where each buyer has a fixed budget and can spread the sale information to the network neighbors. We design a mechanism encouraging buyers to report their valuations truthfully and spread the sale information. Our design uses the idea of the clinching mechanism to decide the transaction price and can be viewed as a network version of the mechanism. Most of the previous clinching mechanisms search for the transaction prices by increasing the current price. Our mechanism directly computes the transaction prices in polynomial time. Furthermore, the mechanism applies a technique to iteratively activate new buyers in the network. This ensures utility preservations of the buyers and benefits the seller. We prove key properties of our mechanism, such as no-positive-transfers, individual rationality, incentive compatibility, non-wastefulness and social welfare preservation.</p>

<p>Title: Optimal Shielding to Guarantee Region-Based Connectivity under Geographical Failures</p>
<p>Authors: Binglin Tao, Mingyu Xiao, Bakhadyr Khoussainov, Junqiang Peng</p>
<p>In this paper, we consider region-based connectivity to capture the local nature of failures under the geographical failure model, where failures may happen only on edges in a sub-network (region) and we want to shield some edges in regions to protect the connectivity. Firstly, we establish the NP-hardness of the problem for multiple regions, answering a question proposed in previous papers. Secondly, we propose a polynomial-time algorithm for the special case of two regions based on the matroid techniques. Furthermore, we design an ILP-based algorithm to solve the problem for multiple regions. The reviewers of this paper said that: The problem is interesting, and the paper has many theoretical contributions. The new algorithms are built on advanced combinatorial tools which can be also evaluated on various network topologies. The detailed complexity study reflects thorough research efforts and technical depth.</p>
